EdSteps is changing the world of education by giving ALL educators a consensus approach to understanding student expectations, grounded entirely in real student work. EdSteps consists of numerous skill categories (reading, writing, etc.) ranging from the most rudimentary manifestations of a skill at the point it emerges and culminates at a mastery level held by professionals and those at the top of their craft. EdSteps provides educators, students and parents with real-world examples of student work, showing real student achievement. These consensus-driven examples will help students know what is expected of them.

EdSteps hired Cartis Group to define a brand strategy and messaging architecture for the organization. Cartis Group helped the EdSteps team create an anthropological brand strategy that will drive the organization’s brand culture. “Cartis Group’s approach to building a consensus-driven brand, one that the entire organization understands, matched our consensus-driven approach to education. We now have a strategy that is meaningful and relevant to our entire team,” said Chris Minnich, Managing Director for EdSteps.

Cartis Group also designed the EdSteps logo, identity system, brand collateral pieces, developed the organization’s messaging strategy and consulted on the organizational Web site. “Working with Cartis Group gave us the confidence to grow a powerful and meaningful brand. We truly appreciate what they did and the critical role Cartis Group played in helping us identify and define our brand,” said Mr. Minnich.

“EdSteps represents a better way of looking at student achievement,” said Shannon Carter, Cartis Group’s President. Carter went on to say, “We feel privileged to have helped define such a forward-thinking brand, especially in a time when education needs so much change. EdSteps is trying to change the world of education and we are proud to have been a part of it.”
